Speed Law

Ever seen a man (or woman) beat old school Contra in under 13 minutes... using only the peashooter?

How about running through X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse in a little
over 19 minutes
?

My buddy, Jeremy 'DK28' Doll, did just that and currently holds the SDA World Record for both titles! Incredible!

Next on his list of games to speedrun are Super Smash Bros. for the N64, Double Dragon II for the NES, and Super Castlevania IV for the SNES.

Congrats Dogbert - keep it up!

HIP HOP ISN'T DEAD

Your source for hip hop album reviews, using more profanity and italics than necessary, since 2007.

Max serves up a discussion forum for fans and newcomers alike. More often than not, I find myself laughing my @$$ off as I read his "two cents." If you pick up an album that sounds like sh!t, don't say Max didn't warn you!

Dollar Day

Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, this astonishingly powerful documentary takes you inside Hurricane Katrina in a way never before seen on screen.

Incorporating remarkable home video footage shot by Kimberly Rivers Roberts - an aspiring rap artist trapped with her husband in the 9th Ward - Fahrenheit 9/11 and Bowling For Columbine producers Tia Lessin and Carl Deal weave this insider's view of Katrina with a devastating portrait of the hurricane's aftermath.

Trouble The Water is a redemptive tale of self-described street hustlers who become heroes - two unforgettable people who survive the storm and then seize a chance for a new beginning.

The Mad Scientist

As a founding member of revered NY hip hop group Main Source, Large Professor put out a CLASSIC LP straight out the game. Since then, Extra P's sound has given us Nas' "It Ain't Hard To Tell," A Tribe Called Quest's "Keep It Rollin'," and nearly all of Kool G. Rap & DJ Polo's Wanted: Dead or Alive among others. His productions in the mid-90's defined the term "boom bap," which is exactly what to expect from his first LP in over 3 years.

On Main Source, (referring to the title of the upcoming album, not the group... confusing, I know) Large Professor enlisted MC's: Jeru the Damaja, Lil Dap, Big Noyd, AZ, & Styles P to deliver a lesson in hip hop purity.
No skits, no songs based around dances, no forced collaborations - just beats, rhymes and life!

Supreme Supreme

"Mos Def has all the skills an emcee needs to have and uses them to perfection. This album exemplifies his writing, his flow, his schemes, his concepts, his topics, his ear for beats, and his intellect. It should also be noted that the multi-talented Def also played many of the instruments featured on tracks and co-produced a handful."
